Is anybody aware whether Sapkowski's books have ever been translated into English?

And this fact it's very suspicious. Considering that the book have been translated to many other languages like Russian, Spanish, Czech, German etc. and sold in more than 1 million copies. I bet it’s a Tolkien's fans conspiracy

The translation isn't perfect, though - It was at first a fan-made translation by someone from a Sapkowski discussion group, later polished a bit by CDP (and the word "hexer", which Sapkowski himself prefers as the translation of "wiedzmin" was changed to "witcher")Ausir38232.642962963

That is unfortunate... I am afraid it is unlikely to happen as is the case with Strugatskys' books (colloquial languange being the toughest part, imho). Hopefully the game gains Sapkowski's cycle the poplularity it deserves, crerating an awesome competition to LotR and Harry Potter.

Sorry, I can't help you, but you can learn some foreign language that Sapkowski have been translated to. I've heard that spanish is quite easy, but if you're ambitious you can always try polish

On site www.polishwriting.net you will find a translation of "Malady"- best Sapkowski's short story. Unfortunately,this story is not about the witcher.

I wanted to learn Russian since my secondary school. But, unfortunately for me, I had German
lessons instead.

The first Witcher books were AFAIK translated into German. The quality of the translation wasn't very good, IIRC.
